Choosing your games on purpose

This is a sample blog post — placeholder writing published to demonstrate the blog format.

Once you accept that careers, hobbies, status ladders and creative projects are all games — optional pursuits with rules and stakes you opted into — a useful question surfaces: did you actually choose the ones you’re playing?

Many games are inherited. The prestige ladder of your field, the metrics of your feed, the competition you fell into at nineteen and never re-examined. They aren’t bad because they’re inherited. But an inherited game deserves the same scrutiny as a chosen one: Do I enjoy playing? Is the skill worth building? Would I still play if nobody was watching the scoreboard?

The hyperpop aesthetic of this site is a small reminder baked into the brand: play is allowed to look joyful. The games layer is supposed to be the fun part.
