Personal strategy / AI safety

MAXIMIZEHEALTH, PLAY GAMES

Health is non-optional. Everything else is a game.

What I’m optimizing for

AI safety is the objective. Power is a means.

Objective
Maximize my useful contribution to solving AI-safety problems.
Current bottleneck
Build enough reliable financial runway that basic living costs stop consuming disproportionate attention and valuable career opportunities become easier to pursue.
Longer horizon
Build capital, capabilities, productivity, and influence—and deploy them rather than treating accumulation as the endpoint.

Current bottleneck

Financial runway is the constraint I am working to remove.

Stability means covering ordinary life without persistent financial attention while gaining room for learning, useful tools, productive working conditions, high-value travel, savings, and relocation when an unusually valuable opportunity warrants it.

Secure mission-aligned runway

Pursue employment, transition funding, and other mechanisms capable of removing the immediate financial bottleneck without derailing the AI-safety trajectory.

Build evidence of execution

Turn projects, operations work, events, field-building, and other activity into visible evidence that I can reliably make useful things happen.

Grow AI-safety career capital

Pursue unusually valuable learning, research, fellowship, networking, and project opportunities when their expected long-term value justifies the time.

Run bounded experiments

Test projects and funding or revenue models cheaply before committing large amounts of time.

What I mean by power

Not status. Practical capacity to make useful things happen.

Capital

Money, runway, equipment, compute, workspace, mobility, and the ability to fund action.

Capabilities

Knowledge, skills, experience, judgment, credentials, and ability to execute.

Productivity

Usable time, energy, attention, health, tools, systems, and working conditions.

Influence

Relationships, reputation, trust, audience, organizational position, and ability to coordinate people and resources.

None is sufficient alone. The strategy asks which combination removes the current constraint and where that capacity can create the most AI-safety value.

Five resource routes

A decision space—not a menu of equally promising options.

  1. Near-term priority

    AI-safety-aligned employment

Roles, contracting, or consulting that produce income while building relevant evidence, relationships, and judgment.

  2. High-leverage bridge

    Career-transition grants

Time-bounded funding that buys runway for a specific, strategically valuable move into higher-impact work.

  3. Project-dependent

    Funding for specific projects

Grants or sponsorship tied to a concrete AI-safety output, causal case, milestone, and budget.

  4. Opportunity-dependent

    Educational funding, stipends & support

Fellowships, internships, residencies, scholarships, and public or student support that also build career capital.

  5. Experimental

    Project revenue & donations

Resources generated by useful projects, services, media, events, prizes, sponsorship, donations, or entrepreneurship.

The current emphasis is aligned employment and transition funding. Other routes become more attractive when a concrete project, program, or experiment justifies them.

Current work

Present activity—not a claim of established success.

Active / developing

Safe AI Sweden

Building and testing ways to strengthen local capacity around safe and democratically governed AI in Sweden.

Active / exploratory

AI-safety field-building

Community-building, ecosystem mapping, networking, and experiments intended to make AI-safety work easier to enter and coordinate.

Active / experimental

Events & convenings

Exploring how events and structured convenings can connect people, surface bottlenecks, and generate useful collaborations.

Exploratory

AI-safety media

Considering media and content formats that could improve communication, field-building, or resource generation without becoming a large distraction.

Where outside leverage would help

Concrete opportunities and specific connections are especially useful.

  • Mission-aligned roles

Especially generalist, operations, project, community, communications, and similar high-agency work.

  • Career-transition funding or programs

Opportunities that buy runway while increasing expected future AI-safety contribution.

  • Project collaborators or funders

Particularly for concrete field-building or coordination experiments.

  • Useful introductions

People or organizations where there is a specific reason we should talk.

Health, Games, and this strategy

The Health / Games framing belongs to the broader, still-evolving Eshkere idea. Eshkere Strategy is the current name for my personal strategy and operating system. It is not an investment fund, a conventional company, or an established institution.
